Newsells Park Stud's Group 2 winner and French Classic-placed Isaac Shelby has had his first mares scanned in foal.

Among them are Rio's Cliffs, a daughter of Canford Cliffs who has already produced a stakes horse by Night Of Thunder in Rex Of Thunder. The mare comes from the immediate family of Group 1 winner Scalo. Another in foal is Asamosa, a daughter of American Pharoah and Renee's Titan, a Bernstein half-sister to three Group/Graded winners.

The first son of the brilliant Night Of Thunder to stand at stud, Isaac Shelby won the Superlative Stakes at two and finished a neck second in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains the following year.

He also won the Greenham Stakes on his seasonal reappearance that year and was also second in the Lennox Stakes and Prix Daniel Wildenstein.

Newsells Park Stud's general manager Julian Dollar said: "We’re delighted that Isaac Shelby has got off to such a great start at stud, which is testament to his wonderful temperament. Isaac Shelby was hugely talented – even better than his sire at two, and a proper Guineas horse too – credentials which are proving popular with breeders."

Isaac Shelby stands for a fee of £7,000.
