South Africa vs New Zealand prediction

South Africa suffered painful defeats to Australia in the 2023 World Cup semi-final and India in last year's T20 World Cup final, but they should be backed to beat New Zealand in the last four of the Champions Trophy.

As the betting suggests, these sides look evenly matched for their clash in Lahore, although the Proteas hammered the Black Caps by 190 runs at the 2023 World Cup in India.

South Africa have been similarly ruthless at this tournament, easing past Afghanistan by 107 runs and bowling out England for 179 on their way to a comfortable seven-wicket win.

Their fast bowlers have impressed and spinner Keshav Maharaj put the skids on England's middle-order, taking 2-35 from his ten overs.

New Zealand's Group A wins came against out-of-sorts Pakistan and Bangladesh before they were bowled out for 205 by India, chasing 250 for victory in Dubai.

The winners of the second semi-final will head to the UAE to face India in Sunday's final and Heinrich Klaasen could play a starring role with the bat for South Africa.

His 56-ball 64 against England featured 11 boundaries and his four previous ODI scores were 87, 81, 97 and 86.
