WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR - ULTIMA HANDICAP 2024
Chianti Classico struck first for Britain when romping away to an impressive victory under David Bass for trainer Kim Bailey. The seven-year-old, who was a novice, stormed four and a half lengths clear of Twig, but sadly his career on the track could be over after sustaining an injury at Cheltenham in December. Meetingofthewaters came third for Willie Mullins in a race Irish-trained runners struggled in, while Famous Bridge made sure three of the first four home came from Britain.
